The nerf Hailfire is certainly a helpful gun. When tactically deployed it becomes a beast. There are some cons though as well. In this post I will display some of the good sides and bad sides of the gun, how to deploy it tactically and how to fight against it.
The Hailfire is certainly elite. It is very practical in a war and it will achieve good money for nerf. Its main feature is probably the ammo capacity with eight places for clips it provides ammo for a long time which is essential for stretched out nerf wars that tend to occur. The other feature that is handy to do with the clips is that when you push the handle it swaps the clips so you don't have to move it around manually. This means quicker reload time so you can keep firing which is also essential in a nerf war.
Another feature that sets the Hailfire apart from other "machine" guns is its size. Other guns in this caliber are unwieldy and large. I find it brilliant that its capacity is larger than any gun (barring the vulcan chain mod) yet it is easily manoeuvred and easy to aim. It is lighter than other guns in this group which brings us to the next pro: batteries.
The Stampede, Vulcan and other guns in the Hailfire's group usually use six D batteries. Six D batteries weigh eight hundred or so grams (allaline). This battery size and how quick the stampede or vulcan gobbles them up tends to put people including parents off those sorts of guns. This is also a minus in the middle of a nerf war trying to attack when you can't even lift your gun. This compared to 96 grams worth of AA batteries in the Hailfire and you start to realise what a beast the Hailfire really is.
So basically it has all the features of the other machine guns packed into the one gun right? Wrong! The gun has some downfalls where other guns are more tactical and helpful in a nerf war.
Firstly the amount of tactical rails is terrible. Like the vortex partner of the stampede the Hailfire has one tactical rail. While other available blasters in this caliber have four or several the Hailfire has an amazing amount of one. Also the placement of this one tactical rail is terrible the handle gets in the way of lights or lasers and sights are useless as the firing is a lot lower than the tactical rail.
The second downer is that it needs a sight. You have to hope your shooting them you can't aim you have to shoot three or more bullets unless your lucky, to get the target. This ok because it's not a sniper but still it would be better if it had as good a sight as the stampede. This is an improvement nerf need to include in their next blasters.
Despite its weaknesses the Hailfire can be deployed very well. A tactic that I usually try to deploy with a team mate is that one of you fire while the other loads so you don't lose ground, cover basically, but with the Hailfire, you have seemingly an endless amount of ammo you can cover multiple people. Have them to reload then once their done you reload. This is especially helpful for defending bases and indeed holding a position.
Another tactic that you can deploy is stretching out the war. Continue to fire and have them firing, covering your team mates who have fully loaded their guns, until the enemy seem to be loading then make use of the other team members and get them to creep up on them and slaughter them. It. It's probably the best gun for endless cover and the enemy can't make progress.
But how do you fight it? Coming up against the Hailfire is a strenuous task. Overpowering it is a tough job I admit but when deploying the correct tactics can lead to its downfall. The best chance you have is your first shot. Make sure your first shot is lined up as well as possible. It is hard to fight a longer war with it.
Another tactic that can be deployed well is getting at the person from two angles. Having to fight against two people is hard. It is probably the best way of attack against it.
The Hailfire is simply put... A beast.
God bless and happy nerfin' Ethan

Nerf Pyragon is Going to be Released
NERF PYRAGON
Ammo
It will be the first drum fed vortex weapon and I am pretty sure you can put the drum in other vortex blasters. This means that unless you have modded the vulcan belt it will have the biggest capacity nerf has to offer.Look
See what I mean? |
Firing
Like the Alpha trooper and the Praxis it uses slam fire so the only features you really get over the Praxis is the grip, [which is much better suited for Slam Fire] colour and the drum.Overall
If you already have the Praxis unless you are desperate for a "whiteout" sort of finish, a smoother Slam fire or more ammo where you need it don't bother falling into the trap of buying the Pyragon because it is basically the same thing. But Nerf is going places so stay excited about the new Nerf.Easy Nerf Maverick Mod
How to Easily Mod the Nerf Maverick
Materials
- Four five cent coins [AUS Currency
- Philips Head screw driver
- Nerf Maverick
- Something can hold screws
- These Instructions
Step 1
Get Nerf Maverick, screwdriver, five cent coins and put them in the "something that can hold screws" bring this as well and have them all handy. [with the instructions]Step 2
Unscrew [with the screw driver] the Nerf Maverick. [Be careful there are two under the cocking mechanism] Than put the screws in "something that can hold screws".Step 3
Carfeully pull out the spring and air compressor without getting out anything else.Step 4
Put four, five cent peices behind where the spring goes.Step 5
Place spring and air compressor back. [Be carful as there are a few mechanisms like the one below the air compressor where you have to put back. This is the sliding mechanism |
Step 6
See the spring above the the spring and air compressor? Well find the little metal stick on one of the things that slide when you are cocking it. You need to put the metal stick in the sliding mechanism that fits the half that you are working on. Than put the sliding mechanism with the peice of metal on the right half that it goes on. You need to make sure that the small metal cylinder fits through the circular gap of the spring. [right on the edge]Step 7
Screw the Maverick back together not forgetting to do the two inside the sliding mechanism. And then You are done!!You May Be Wondering How It Works
It works by making more pressure on the spring so that it pushes the air compressor harder and faster therefore creating more wind so it goes a few metres further. If you have any problemos please tell I am happy to help you out.
BTW if you do not own five cent coins or you don't want to waste 20 cents use cardboard or something like that.
THANKYOU VERY MUCH!!!
Top ten nerf products
My Top Ten Nerf Products ARE:
Whiteout Maverick |
My Pink Maverick!!! |
#10 Nerf Maverick
This is the most reliable nerf gun. I've never had it jammed until I modded it. On that hand it is probably the easiesst gun to mod plus it is easy to paint. [PAINTED mine pink with white sparkles!!!!!!!]
#9 Secret Shot
Though in terms of practibility this weapon is terrible but in terms of absolute great fun and as a good weapon that is 100% portable it is mad. [Thats only why I like it better than the Maverick]
#8 Klaw Hatchet
I love the Klaaw Hatchet though in a battle it is completely useless unless you throw it. Still it makes your opposition pretty scared if you feint to throw it at them. [Hint:to throw it more like a Call Of Duty Tomahawk throw it facing backwards.]
#7 Alpha trooper
Because of it's 18 [though it fits 20] dart drum and it's slam fire capability this is an all round winner. You can depend on it in nearly every situation.
Pyragon |
#6 Praxis
It is almost exactly the Alpha Trooper with many of it's features but the only feature it has over the Alpha is it's range. Plus with the 40 disc drum coming out with the Pyragon it is going to be better than the Alpha.
Dart Tag Version |
If you purchase [or purchased as it isn't sold anymore (unless on ebay)] the Dart Tag Magstrike comes with two mags so with a fire rate of 4 bullets in 1 second and with the backup of two clips the magstrike is certainly a frightening weapon and is effective in a battle if you sneak up on your nemisis.
I haven't got one myself but when my friends come over with it I get pretty worried!!!
#4 Vulcan
The Vulcan is a very good defensive gun but not very good on the offense because of it's weight. If you set it up on a platform in any kind of defensive position it is super effective because of it's ammo capacity. The only problem is the reloading time and finding the bullets needed to fill it up so in a lond nerf battle it is not as effective. But theres nothing worse than being shot at from this beast. [Hint to add belts (In Australia) you have to flip the belt upside down somtimes it still works upside down but if not it still makes reloading time quicker]
#3 Stamepede
The only reason I don't like about this weapon is that it eats up alot of battery. Aside from that, the Satmpede is better than the vulcan because of it's portabiliity, it comes with a total capacity of 60 bullets compared to the vulcans 25 and the clip system bullets are easier to load plus usually there are more of them tends to be around in the average nerf war.
#2 Nitron
The reason I have classified this gun over the Stampede is because of the distance and when using vortex guns the scope is really good because the discs fly pretty far. Another asset it has over the stampede is that it stores another clip on the actual gun.
#1 Rapid Fire
I absolutely love the Rapid Fire because it isn't to hard to load and pump [because if you hold the trigger while pumping it still shoots] and because it is super advantage in a nerf war. My favourite asset of the Rapid Fire is that it is not electrically powered yet it still has the fastest shooting capability. [I think it is eight bullets every second but I am not completely sure.
